Murals by Gina

In 2024 and 2025, I was commissioned to create 2 distinct murals. The first was for the Cleveland Foundation. I incorporated the past, present, and future into a piece representing both the client and their collaborators. My mother’s prom dress was the main subject. The piece includes three images—my mother, myself, and my daughter wearing her dress—surrounded by what the Cleveland Foundation represents and will represent. The piece was titled Opus 3.20.27 and installed inside the new Warren E. Anderson Midtown Collaboration Center.

The second mural was commissioned by The Story of Us, an independent organization headed by Ashley Scott Adjaye. Under the theme Still We Rise, I told the story of my family’s migration from the South to the North. The mural was vinyl-printed and applied to a large fiberglass drum. The drum will tour specific states in the US, along with other artists who created under a variety of themes.
